A waveform that keeps up
Drawn with Metal: from a whole album down to individual samples, smoothly, with RMS shading, an overview strip and a spectrogram one keystroke away.
A small, fast audio editor for the Mac. Open a pile of tracks, zoom down to single samples, record, arrange them on a multitrack with buses, effects and your own plugins, and bounce a mix — without the weight of a full DAW.

Drawn with Metal: from a whole album down to individual samples, smoothly, with RMS shading, an overview strip and a spectrogram one keystroke away.
Drag tracks onto lanes, trim, split and crossfade clips, route them through coloured buses with effect chains and sends, draw volume and balance automation, then mix down to a new track.
The Audio Units on your Mac — Apple's and everyone else's — go on a track or into the mixer, with their own windows. Each runs in its own process: if one crashes, the editor carries on.
Parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, gate, delay, chorus, reverb and more, with presets and a live preview while it plays. Bypass any of them to compare.
Vocals, drums, bass and the rest, pulled apart on your Mac's GPU and lined up on lanes — for a remix, a karaoke track or practice. Apple silicon.
A live waveform as you record, or a take straight onto a new lane while the mix plays — lined up with what you heard.
Transcribe in 47 languages with clickable timestamps; get a title, a summary and regions by topic from Apple Intelligence. Nothing leaves your Mac.
One file with every track, edit and mix — and a snapshot at every save, with a picture of the window, to go back to any earlier state.
Metal all the way downThe waveform, the spectrogram (its FFT included) and the spectrum analyzer are GPU shaders, so zooming from hours down to single samples stays smooth.
Playback streams from memory through AVAudioSourceNode. The render thread never locks or allocates; effects and meters hand over lock-free.
Meters, the analyzer and recorded takes are lined up with the output's latency — even the quarter second AirPods add.
Audio Units load out of process — old AUv2 ones too — so a crashing plugin can't take the editor down. A session keeps each one's own fullState.
When an effect plays late, the mixer holds every other path back to match, so buses meet at Master in time and a mixdown lines up to the sample.
Demucs on the GPUStem separation runs Meta's Demucs model on MLX: a separate download, fetched the first time you need it, pinned and checked before it runs.
Swift 6 with strict concurrency, SwiftUI and AppKit. No Electron, no web views, no runtime to install. One universal app for Apple silicon and Intel.
Transcripts come from Apple's on-device speech recognition, summaries from Apple Intelligence's on-device model. Your audio stays on your Mac.
Edits are kept as lossless 32-bit float until you export, and every edit — audio, markers, the mix — can be undone.
Mini Audition costs nothing, has no account, no ads and no tracking. If it saves you time, a coffee keeps the updates coming.
